How do we create best practices for environmental noise management?

Workshop design:
Environmental sound influences the health and quality of life of people and other living organisms. I co-designed an afternoon workshop on best practices for environmental noise management in collaboration with Catherine Guastavino (Université McGil), Thomas Dupont (ÉTS), an organizing committee and the McGill Sounds in the City team. I created the content and design for 3 case studies: 1.) A quiet zone park area being disrupted by construction; 2.) A high-rise building being constructed adjacent to an artery; and 3.) A residential area undergoing significant commercial development. Participants included urban planners, sound professionals, health professionals, designers, engineers, elected officials, managers, researchers, professors, scientists and interested citizens.

I was responsible for the event management, communication, content creation, facilitation, design and some photography.

Multidisciplinary collaboration:
Université McGill, Ministère de la Santé et des Services Sociaux (MSSS), Ministère de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques (MELCC), École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), Université Laval
