How do we increase foot traffic in downtown Montréal during the COVID pandemic and shine a spotlight on Montréal’s film industry?

Location:
Montréal

Date:
November 2021

Concept design:
I co-wrote and co-created the concept for ACTION MONTREAL! in collaboration with my LUCION Média colleagues Bernard Duguay and Marie-Astrid Fieux, and the CINEMANIA film festival team.

ACTION MONTRÉAL is an immersive experience designed to shine a spotlight on Montréal as a stage for several films over the past decades. Thirteen stations with QR codes were installed around former location shoots in downtown Montréal to guide pedestrians on a soundwalk highlighting the stories and anecdotes of local directors, producers, actors, and film critics.

Digital screens were also installed in Montréal’s festival district during the CINEMANIA film festival from November 1 to 14, 2021. Video projection on the facades of the Wilder and President-Kennedy Pavilion guided spectators through the various sites in Montreal where scenes from Quebec and international films were shot.

The project was supported by the City of Montreal, SDC Montréal centre-ville, Oùvoir.ca, and the Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles.
